BATH HOUSE - ESPERGÆRDE HARBOUR
The vision for Espergærde harbour has been to create a project that reinforces the port's potential as a natural meeting place and reinforce the connection to the water. The harbour is well visited, but there is a lack of defined zones for stay and assembly, and the access to the water is limited. The plan for Espergærde has therefore been to define new living zones: “The harbour square” on land and the blue zone outside the harbour. The bathhouse is located as a link between the two different zones, and invites people up on the roof to get a visual connection to the water.
The bathhouse is positioned as a connecting link between the two different zone and the extension of the toilet building to a small coffee bar also creates with its shape, possibility of staying facing the surface. At the same time, the winter bath house invites users up to the roof, from where it is created a strong visual connection to the blue zone and the activities here: this space will become a new recreational area water zone, where you can swim lanes, dock with your kayak, fish and hang out on the new wooden platforms.
The project consists of a bathhouse, kiosk/office + toilets new/transformation as well as new surfaces and wooden decks, which all acts as a connecting link between the different zones and gives the harbour new meeting places and new recreational areas.
